Venice and its lagoon

The Veneto region stretches from the Dolomites to the Adriatic Sea, crossing a wide range of hills and a plain furrowed by rivers, canals and the Po Delta. The lagoon landscape is typical of the Veneto coastline, and the lagoon is home to a unique city: Venice, visited every year by thousands of Italian and foreign tourists.

In the Veneto, in the waters of the Adriatic Sea, lies one of the most evocative places in the world, a treasure trove of inestimable riches: the Venice lagoon. At the heart of this priceless heritage lies the Serenissima, with its canals topped by characteristic bridges and furrowed by gondolas, its monuments, squares, narrow alleyways and the water flowing silently at its feet.

A charm that can also be found in the hinterland, where a multitude of routes wind their way through green nature, along quiet rivers, passing towns rich in history and fabulous villas. A land that can also be tasted through its flavours, with typical dishes and a precious “wine list“.

Venice Film Festival

The Venice International Film Festival, organised by the Biennale di Venezia and directed by Alberto Barbera, takes place every two years on the Lido di Venezia.

The Festival, officially recognised by the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers’ Associations), aims to promote the knowledge and diffusion of international cinema in all its forms of art, entertainment and industry, in a spirit of freedom and dialogue.

The Venice Biennale

The Venice Biennale is one of the most important and prestigious international contemporary art events in the world, organised by the Fondazione Biennale di Venezia.

Divided into two venues, the Giardini and the Arsenale, it offers the possibility of wandering through the different pavilions, each dedicated to a different nation that highlights different aspects of a central theme.

The Venice Carnival

The Carnival of Venice is one of the most famous and popular carnivals in the world.

For a whole week, the city is transformed into a masked ball teeming with people dressed in sumptuous costumes.

The centre fills with colours and tourists pour into the alleyways to take part in this great festival full of traditions and entertainment.
